If you have purchased a new smartphone, the Microsoft Authenticator application must be reinstalled on your new device. This article will walk you through the process of linking the Authenticator application on your new smartphone to your Landmark account. Upon completion, the Microsoft Authenticator application will be your primary method for multi-factor authentication again.


NOTE: Do not attempt to Restore your Microsoft Authenticator App if prompted


NOTE: This will reset and re-enable the MFA settings for your @teamlandmark account which is used for Email, Teams, VPN, Procore, etc. This WILL NOT reset the MFA settings for your TimberScanGO account. Please contact the service desk to reset your TimberScanGO MFA settings.

On your Landmark computer

  1. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com and login with your Landmark credentials
    1. If prompted, enter your Landmark password
    2. If asked to authenticate, please select Sign in another way
    3. Select Text me at +# ########XX (the last two digits should be he last two digits of your mobile phone number)
      Note: If your mobile number is not the number listed please contact the Service Desk to have it changed
    4. Enter the code

  2. On the left side of the page select Security info

  3. Under Security info find the listing that says Microsoft Authenticator and press Delete

  4. Select Add method

  5. Select Authenticator App in the dialog box and press Add

  6. Press Next to begin the device registration process

  7. Once you see the QR code you are ready to configure the Authenticator application on your new mobile device


On your new mobile device

  1. Install the Microsoft Authenticator application from either Google Play or the App Store
    Note: The app may already be installed on your device if you restored the device from a backup.

  2. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone.
    Note: Depending on your device may not see the initial setup wizard described in the steps below, proceed to #3
    • If prompted, allow the Authenticator app to send push notifications.
    • Skip past prompts to add a Personal, Non Microsoft, or Work accounts.

  3. Tap on the Add account button
    • If prompted, all the app to have access to use the Camera.

  4. Choose the Other (Google, Facebook, etc.) option from the list of account types.

  5. Use the app's camera to scan the QR code displayed on the Configure mobile app window displayed on your computer
    • Your Landmark email address will display a rotating one-time-pin code

  6. Click the Next button displayed on your computer to move onto the next step of the Authenticator configuration

  7. Click on the Verify now button displayed on your computer

  8. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smart phone and enter the one-time-pin which is displayed within the app into the Verifying app window on your computer
    Note: The one-time-pin code changes every 30 seconds

  9. Click the Verify button to confirm the Authenticator app has been configured correctly

    Set the Default sign-in method

     

  10. Please confirm that your Default sign-in method is set to Authenticator App or hardware token
