Unlike Field Groups, Support employees all enter their own time on timesheets.

Unlike General Support Groups, the Engineering Groups code their time in part to Jobs and Cost Codes.

The timesheets have seven primary features:

  1. View - Timesheets can be displayed in either a Daily or Weekly view.  For the Engineering Support staff, the weekly view is most useful.

  2. Payroll Group - You will not typically have to change this, it should default to your current Payroll Group

  3. Pay Period - can be used to change the pay period displayed.  You can also change the pay period by pressing the arrows to the left and right of the dates displayed

  4. Pay Type Group - used to switch between Hours, Bereavement-Jury Duty, and Sick-Vacation-Holiday entry

  5. Time Entry - cells used to enter hours worked for each row, including "Default Coding" (home department hours), and GL Account (non-home department) time.  Time is entered separately for each day/code for the following:

  6. Add Jobs/Codes button - select to add additional GL Accounts to your time sheet if necessary.  Jobs and cost codes are added to the Engineering timesheets to capture time spent directly on Jobs.

  7. Timesheet Summary - Summarizes total hours for all categories (HRS, HOL, VAC, SICK) for each day, and for the Pay Period totals in the lower right-hand corner.

To add Bereavement and Jury Duty hours, switch to the Pay Type Group "BRVMT AND JURY DUTY".  Hours claimed for non-work (i.e. Sick, Bereavement, etc.) chould ALWAYS be entered on the default row.

To add Sick, Vacation and Holiday hours, switch to the Pay Type Group "SIC/VAC/HOL".  Hours claimed for non-work (i.e. Sick, Bereavement, etc.) chould ALWAYS be entered on the default row.

  1. Select the Job

  2. Select the Cost Code (if available)

  3. Click the "Add to Time Sheet" button

You can also add GL Accounts (if available) or add your Default (Home Department) if needed.
