Prior to account provisioning and hardware configuration for an employee, there is a bit of information needed to ensure the new employee is setup correctly. A meeting with the employee's manager should be scheduled prior to account creation and access assignment. The employee preferred name and intended start date should be confirmed with HR before scheduling a meeting with the employee's manager.

Pre-Onboarding Questions

  1. Does the employee have a preferred name that they go by?

  2. What is the confirmed start date for the employee?

  3. Where will the onboard take place (Office or Remote)?

  4. Does the employee require hardware for their home office space?

Note: Before ordering home hardware for the employee, please make sure to contact the employee and confirm preferred hardware items the employee already has. Some employees prefer what they have over what is being offered. (Example: Monitors, Keyboard/Mouse, Webcam) If the employee chooses personal hardware over company issued hardware, please make sure it is compatible with Landmark's hardware. Laptops and docking stations are non-negotiable.

  5. Should home office hardware be shipped to the employee's home, or will the employee pickup hardware in the office?

  6. Does the employee require a workspace in the office?

  7. Whose access should this employee's access model?

  8. Will this employee receive mobile reimbursement? If so, make sure the mobile number is added to Active Directory under the 'Telephones' tab in the 'Mobile' field.

Note: Employee stipends are not decided by IT. Neither does IT suggest. This determination is made by the hiring manager. IT only ask this question for the sole purpose of adding the employee's personal mobile number to Active Directory. If the employee receives a stipend, the personal number is published in Active Directory.

  9. Does this employee require the ability to make outbound phone calls? If so, there is a small fee of $10 a month to assign a license to the employee.

  10. Does this employee require access to a Teams site? If so, inquire about whether or not the particular role of the employee requires access. If this information is not included on the matrix, please add it.

Note: Typically, the Teams site needed is listed on the matrix under the role of the employee

Please capture the details of all questions answered in the notes of the ticket for the employee.
